Fun Kids Activities in Edgware

Treasure hunts, crafts, team sports, and fire lighting – when it comes to family activities in Edgware, we offer a wide range of exciting options. Just a four-minute walk from Edgware Station, 2nd Edgware Scouts welcomes girls and boys ages 6 and up to join us for weekly evening sessions, along with weekend and holiday events. Parents are also invited to get involved as volunteer leaders!

At 2nd Edgware Scouts, we actively support young people in their personal growth, encouraging them to become leaders and positive members of society. Through both indoor and outdoor activities, kids learn by doing—taking on responsibilities and reflecting on their experiences.

Your Scout Group in Edgware Town Centre

Established in the centre of Edgware since 1929, 2nd Edgware Scouts proudly continues to welcome families from Edgware, Burnt Oak, Edgwarebury, Mill Hill, and surrounding areas. We continue to provide a safe and engaging space for both girls and boys in the local community.

Our activities are designed to suit the interests and abilities of each young person. Whether it’s learning new photography techniques, trying out water sports, or mastering map reading, we offer a variety of exciting challenges. At Scouts, we believe every child should shape their own adventure, develop leadership skills, and have a chance to speak up.

A Different Kind of After-School Activity in Edgware

Scouts is all about giving young people choices, new challenges, and the chance to develop skills for life. We encourage problem-solving and teamwork, whether it’s navigating a route or taking part in communication games. Through our badge programme, young people can try new activities, develop their skills, and celebrate their achievements.

Leadership, first aid, camping and cooking are just a few of the life skills taught at 2nd Edgware Scouts. We mix hands-on learning with real-life adventure, all while connecting with the great outdoors. And, of course, making new friends, toasting marshmallows and games of dodgeball are key – having fun is a big part of what we do!

Volunteering in Edgware

At 2nd Edgware Scouts, we’re run completely by passionate volunteers from and around Edgware. Whether you’re a parent, a local resident, or someone with a heart for helping young people, there’s always room for more hands! Volunteering here is not only a great way to give back to your community, but it’s also an incredibly fun and rewarding experience. You’ll make new friends, develop new skills, and even get involved in some of the activities yourself! (Archery on a Tuesday evening? What a way to spice up your week!)

Volunteering with us is flexible to fit your schedule. You can choose how much time you’d like to dedicate, and we provide all the necessary support along the way, including training, introductions, and, of course, plenty of cups of tea! It’s a fantastic way to make a positive impact on young lives while being part of a close-knit community in Edgware.
