Busy People Wanted!

Busy people make the best leaders, we need people who are quick and efficient planners, creative thinkers, and know how to get a lot done in very little time. Explorer Units are run by volunteers in their spare time, around family commitments, full time jobs and social lifes.

It can be hard work – but it’s a very rewarding hobby! Volunteering is flexible, and you’d be surprised what kind of things we need doing!

There are more young people who want to join Explorers than there are spaces – when contacting an Explorer Unit please ask how you can get involved!

Who?

Explorer Scouts is open to anyone aged 14 to 18, after age 18 Scouts join Network Scouts.

What?

Explorer Scouts often get the chance to work with other Explorer Scouts in their District, not just their own Unit, so can take part in an even wider spectrum of activities.

There is also a range of ambitious badges and awards, through which Explorers can demonstrate their proficiencies and expand their interests.

Where and When?

There isn’t an explorer unit based at our own hut, so our Scouts usually join one of these Explorer Scout Units. You can see these, and more units, on the Greater London North Scouts Map

There are more young people wanting to join Explorers than there are volunteers to provide Scouting for them. Please speak to your Unit to find out how you can help!
