Our Beavers
As of 2025, 2nd Edgware Beavers is currently closed due to not having enough adult volunteers to run the section. We would love to re-open our Beaver Colony, although our current priority is re-launching the Cubs section for 8 – 10½ year olds. Cubs will then link Beavers through to our older section, Scouts. Here’s a bit more about Cubs…

About Cubs
Cubs meet during term times for one evening a week, usually for 1.5 hours. This will either be a Wednesday or Thursday – as we’re recruiting a new team of Cub leaders, you can choose the time that best suits you. Weekly meetings consist of games and activities, ranging from cooking and crafts, to team building and treasure hunts.

About volunteering
As a team you can share out the planning. One week you might be running a game, the next you might be leading one of the badge activities. No experience? No problem. Training, support and cups of tea are provided every step of the way as we’ll help transition you into running Cubs. It’s a fun and rewarding way to brighten up your weekly routine. Plus, it’s flexible – you can choose how much time you commit.

Join us!
If you have any questions about volunteering at Cubs, or you want to trial it out, please contact us here. And yes, if your child is Cub age they can start straight away with you! If you’re not looking to volunteer, you can sign your child up to the waiting list here. If we find the adults, and there is space available for your child, we will be in touch.

Address
We are based at The Scout & Guide Centre, Rectory Lane, Edgware, London, HA8 7LG – you can open on Google Maps here. This is a four minute walk from Edgware Station. Occasionally we will meet at other local venues for specific activities.
